Applying Lipstick

Do you need help applying lipstick! Okay, don't worry. I'm going to tell you how to do it.

After applying lip liner , you're ready to put your lipstick.

Finding the perfect color can be difficult. Visit my link to Color Done Easy for help on finding the right shade.

What you will need.
1. lipstick
2. lip brush
3. tissue for blotting
4. lip balm

Are your lips peeling? Exfoliate. Brush your lips with a SOFT toothbrush and water. Yes, a toothbrush. BE GENTLE. This will get rid of the dead skin and give you a smooth, soft surface.

Steps to apply your lipstick

1. (optional) Apply a little lip balm onto clean, dry lips. Use just a little. I don't suggest petroleum jelly. You don't want your lips to be too greasy.

2. Work some lipstick onto your brush. Start in the middle of the top lip with your lips relaxed and slightly open. The lip brush is recommended because it gives more control resulting in a clean straight line. Fill in the top lip moving towards the corners.

3. For the bottom lip, open mouth wider, start in one corner & move across to the other corner.

4. Blot by pressing a tissue on your lips once. This removes excess lipstick. Don't press too hard. You'll remove too much color.

5. Brush on loose powder and repeat steps 2-4 for color that will stay on for hours. If you don't like this idea, try using a lip pencil over entire lip before lipstick. It can be a nude pencil or match the lipstick color.

DO NOT RUB YOUR LIPS TOGETHER AFTER APPLYING LIPSTICK!
This ruins all your hard work.

NOTES:

1. Applying concealer or foundation on the lips before lipstick to achieve an even base color. Try it if you're lips are really unevenly colored. This doesn't work for me because my lips can't "breath" and I end up getting bumps.

2. Although I recommend a lip brush, it's not terrible if you apply color straight from the tube. I must admit that I don't use a brush sometimes if I'm in a hurry.

3. Some suggest discreetly licking the rim of your glass to avoid leaving lipstick marks. That lipstick tip is gross! Instead, try a no-transfer lip color.

4. This is gross too but it works. If lipstick always gets on your teeth, put your finger in your mouth pull it out. The excess that would have been on your teeth, comes off on your finger. Yuck.

Applying lipstick is the easiest and fastest way to transform your appearance. So follow these easy lipstick tips, wear it and love it!
