Eyebrow Makeup Done Easy

eyebrow5eyebrow2eyebrow3

If you don't have perfectly shaped eyebrows, use some eyebrow makeup. Eyebrow pencils and powders are an easy way to

enhance the shape of your eyebrows and give a complete look to your eye makeup.

Do you know the purpose of eyebrows? Not only do they help us communicate through facial gestures, but they also add to our individual appearance. The physical purpose is to guide sweat and moisture away from our eyes and down the sides of our face. Cool huh? Let's not forget...they accent the eyes and help us look pretty too.

If you've never tweezed or arched your brows and feel nervous about doing it yourself, you might want to visit a salon for the initial shaping. Once the shape is created, it's easy to maintain by following these beauty tips!

What you will need.
1. tweezers - I prefer the kind with the pointy tip rather than the angled tip. You get better accuracy.
2. eyebrow makeup pencil
3. astringent
4. cotton ball

Steps: Where the brow should begin.

1. While looking in a mirror, hold a pencil on the outside of your nose, next to the nostril.

2. Let it's line reach the inner corner of the eye. Make sure not to cover the eye at all.

3. Where the pencil hits the brow bone is where the eyebrow should begin.

Steps: Where the brow should end.

1. Using the pencil again, hold it on the outside of the nose against the nostril.

2. This time angle the pencil so that it just touches the outer corner of the eye.

3. Where it hits the brow bone is where the brow should end.

Steps: Where the arch should be.

1. Using the pencil again and holding it against your nostril.

2. Let its line go across the pupil.

3. Where the pencil hits the brow is where the crest of the arch should be.

Tweezing Tips

1. The best time is after showering or washing your face with warm water. The pores will be open and tweezing will be less painful.

2. Tweeze at night so you don't have to face the day with any redness.

3. Pull in the direction of hair growth to minimize pain.

4. Only pluck one hair at a time. Not only will it hurt less but it's harder to over tweeze.

5. Start removing the hair between the brows first. You'll end up with 2 distinct brows to work with.

6. Before tweezing under the brow, brush the hair up so a clean lower line is visible.

7. Don't remove too much under the eye. You might ruin your arch.

8. Use astringent on a cotton ball to close pores where hair has been removed. DON'T LET ASTRINGENT GET INTO YOUR EYES!

It's easier to maintain your brows if you tweeze them once a week.

Use a eyebrow makeup pencil to fill in any thin areas. Use short strokes. It'll look more natural than drawing one solid line. If you don't like the results of pencil, try a brow fill color. It's like eyeshadow for your eyebrows. Try Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty Award winner Paula Dorf 2+1 For Brows Brow Trio at Beauty.com

As a finishing touch you can use a brow gel like M.A.C. Brow Set at Macy's. It's a brush-on gel that grooms and slicks brows into shape without flaking or stiffening the brows. Also Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty Award winner.
