Eyelash Curler Techniques Done Easy

eyelashcurler2eyelashcurler

You need an eyelash curler for amazing eyes. This weird looking tool makes the eye look bigger and brighter by curling the eyelashes.

Definitely use it if you have straight or short lashes. If you naturally have long curled lashes then the rest of us are jealous! But seriously, you can use the curler also to add more drama to your eye makeup. Just make sure your lashes don't poke into the top of your lower brow bone.

This tool should be used BEFORE you put on mascara. If you use the curler after you've applied mascara, your eyelashes could break off or get pulled out entirely. Not good.

I must admit, I always curl my lashes after my first coat of mascara. I just get a better result that way, but I'm very careful and experienced with my lash curler.

Metal curlers are better than plastic ones because they're stronger and maintain their shape, resulting in a better curl. Try tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler. It's really easy to use and gives a super curl.

Ideally you should replace the pad in the curler about every 2 months. But I don't think anyone really follows that rule so just replace the pad if you find the crease going too deep or if your not getting a good curl anymore.

All eye makeup should be dry before proceeding.

Curling Steps

1. Place upper lashes in the mouth of the curler.

2. Try to get as close to the base of the lashes as possible. Make sure not to pinch any skin on the lid.

3. Keeping the eye open, slowly squeeze the mouth closed. Hold for 10 seconds and release. Keep your face and hand steady. On that note, when doing your makeup in the car, you might want to skip this step or wait till the car is stopped!

You should not feel any pain. If you do, quickly release the mouth and reposition the tool.

Most women find that curling the lashes once is sufficient.
If you want more curl, reposition the mouth a little higher from the lash base and repeat step 3.
